Filmmaker, Writer, and Activist.He is the writer/producer/director of , “The
Youngest Candidate”.
‘The Youngest Candidate’ is the 1st feature documentary ever produced by David
Letterman’s company, Worldwide Pants, in partnership with Oscar winner Lawrence
Bender (producer of ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, etc..) and
Balance Vector Productions. It follows the story of 4 teens that ran for public
office in America.
‘The Youngest Candidate’ won ‘Best Non-Fiction Film by a New Filmmaker’ at the
Traverse City Film Festival & it had its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film
Festival in June of 2009.
Pollock also toured the country with his film to get the youth vote out through
Election Day 2008. Jason went to 21 cities in 10 battleground states with Zune
and Declare Yourself to get young people excited about voting.
Pollock has built an audience online of 80,000 Twitter followers and was
recently listed as one of the top 140 most influential people on twitter in a
report that was picked up by The New York Times, The BBC, Newsweek, & The
Guardian.
In August of 2009, Pollock began with Ashton Kutcher’s company Katalyst Films.
Since then they have worked together on a number of digital campaigns including
the United Nations “End Malaria” Campaign, The Entertainment Industry
Foundation’s iParticipate, Mountain Dew’s ‘Democracy’ Campaign, & Season 2 of
Katalyst HQ. Pollock also worked on the digital campaigns for Kutcher’s recent
films & TV projects including ‘The Beautiful Life’, ‘Valentine’s Day’, &
‘Killers’.
Prior to making ‘The Youngest Candidate’, Pollock was Michael Moore’s executive
assistant for almost 3 years. He worked with him from 2003-2006 and during that
time aided Moore all his work such as “Dude Where’s My Country”, “Fahrenheit
9/11?, and “Slacker Uprising”. Pollock went to 60 cities in 30 days with Moore
on his ‘Slacker Uprising Tour’ in 2004 to get the vote.
Pollock is now writing and developing film & TV projects in Los Angeles, CA. He
is also a digital producer & consultant for brands and organizations.

It follows the story of 4 teens
that ran for public office in America. Funny, inspiring, poignant, and
ultimately uplifting, ‘The Youngest Candidate’ is not just a film about running
for office. It is the coming of age story of four idealistic young adults who
dared to confront the corrupt political systems in America. Through their
journey these young candidates learn about fair play, leadership development,
racism in politics, the importance of family, and many other lessons that they
will carry with them throughout their lives. In the face of great adversity,
these four young adults braved all the odds to make it to Election Day to show
that regardless of the outcome, it didn’t matter… It’s all about how you play
the game.
The film follows Raul De Jesus,
who at 20 years old ran for Mayor of Hartford, CT -- Tiffany Tupper, who at 18
years old ran for School Board in Hampton Township, PA -- Ytit Chauhan, who at
19 years old ran for City Council in Atlantic City, NJ -- George Monger, who at
18 years old ran for City Council in Memphis, TN.
